Darjeeling Tea: Cohere Tea Basket
The snow-covered Himalayan ranges, especially Kanchenjunga peaks, in its foothills nestles the beautiful hill station Darjeeling. Dotted with magnificent sceneries and cozy hamlets, Darjeeling surprises and enchants the tourists in myriad ways. Darjeeling is famous worldwide for its Tea having a rich aroma and delicate flavor. In contrast to 312,210 hectares of Assam’s Tea plantation area, Darjeeling has about 17,820 hectares only. The quantity of Tea produced at Darjeeling is not much, but its delicate flavor has given it a reputation of being the “Champagne of Teas”.
The aroma and taste of orthodox tea are unparalleled in the world. This Tea is as exotic and mysterious as the hills themselves. A tradition steeped in history and a mystique that is felt in every sip. Walk into the cloudy mountains and feel light-hearted with a cup of your flavorsome Tea.
But, Darjeeling Tea cannot be grown or manufactured anywhere else in the world. Just as Champagne is indigenous to the Champagne district of France, so is this to Darjeeling. To assist the Tea Board in its role of authenticating the regional origin of Darjeeling Tea, it has developed a unique logo, known as the Darjeeling Tea logo.
